Factory Seconds. Tight Fit in Scabbard
The 1796 Heavy Cavalry Sword was based on the earlier backsword and was a copy of the 1769 Austrian Pallasch. Able to deliver in the cut but equally adept at the thrust it was perfect for the heavy cavalry of the time. It was used by the British and some of its contemporaries throughout the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Our rendition features a tempered carbon steel with heavy steel hilt fittings. The grip is of leather covered timber and the scabbard is heavy steel like the hilt.
