Genuine Japanese Samurai Katana with Shinteisho papers attributing this blade to Echizen Seki school of sword smiths, circa Tenna period 1681-1684. The grain is itame hada with a gunome hamon with one side of the blade in good old polish, the other side out of polish. It is unsigned with a the tang in good original condition with strong shape and age characteristics. The Tsuba is of iron with the Tsuka is in good restored condition and older Fuchi, Kashira and Menuki. The saya has a small split but overall not too bad. Would be a great beginner sword and an inexpensive way to get into real Japanese sword collecting.
